‘The Flash’ gains another speedster
The Flash season 2 has cast Keiynan Lonsdale (Dance Academy, Insurgent) as a series regular in the role known in the DC Comics as Wally West/Kid Flash.
Lonsdale will make his first appearance in The CW superhero series in the winter, as another speedster like the title character played by Grant Gustin.
The Kid Flash appears in assorted DC Comics iterations, including as both Iris West’s nephew and husband to Linda Park (who appeared in Season 1, played by Malese Jow).
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said: “Just like when we met Grant [Gustin] for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero. We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.”
Season 2 of The Flash will also include Teddy Sears (Masters Of Sex) as the original Flash, Jay Garrick. Shantel VanSanten as Barry’s new love interest, and Michael Ironside (Smallville) will guest star as Captain Cold’s dad.
Season 2 of The Flash returns in the US on Tuesday, 6th October on The CW. The series airs on Sky 1 in the UK; airdate yet to be confirmed.
