“I’m not the one who dies. I’m the one that does the killing.”

Netflix has unveiled a new trailer and airdate for the second season of Marvel’s The Punisher .

The new series, starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / The Punisher, will be available on Netflix from 18th January 2019.

Showrunner Steve Lightfoot has described the second season as, “Frank really adopting the mantle of The Punisher.”

New characters include teenage girl Amy—played by 13 Reasons Why star Giorgia Whigham, whose troubles will intertwine with Frank when she gets in over her head with this season’s new big bad, Christian Fundamentalist John Pilgrim, played by Interstellar actor Josh Stewart.

Billy Russo will be recovering both physically and mentally from his brutal facial scars.

We get a first look at Ben Barnes as Billy Russo (known as Jigsaw in the comics) following the brutal season one finale where his face was sliced up with glass during a fight with Frank.

Season two will open with Billy suffering from brain damage, memory issues, self-pity, and desperately trying to piece together what happened to him and who he is.

Supergirl‘s Floriana Lima has also joined the cast as Krista, Billy’s psychotherapist.

With Netflix having already cancelled most of its Marvel slate of shows including, Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist, I think it’s safe to assume this will be the final series of The Punisher, on the Netflix platform at least.
