With the second series of The A Word due to air this November, here at Inside Media Track we have an exclusive first-look gallery of images for the six-part BBC One series, starring Christopher Eccleston, Morven Christie, Lee Ingleby, Mollie Wright and Max Vento.

The Peter Bowker penned-drama – which focuses on a family coming to terms with having an autistic son – picks up two years on from where we left off, and Joe (Vento), is now seven years old and beginning to feel he doesn’t fit in.

Writer Peter Bowker explains: “Autistic is a word Joe has heard but can’t yet understand. Different is what he feels, and fears might be something bad. It’s up to the whole family to help Joe make sense of who he is and his place in the world. But to do that, they must first be honest about themselves…”

The pictures also show new cast additions, Aaron Pierre, Clare Holman, Jude Akuwudike, Lucy Gaskell and Travis Smith.

Greg McHugh and Vinette Robinson will also be reprising their roles as Eddie and Nicola.
