Budget constraints affect children’s drama

Popular CBBC series Wizards vs Aliens has been put on hold by the BBC after three series, citing ‘cost issues.’

Russell T Davies, who created the show with Phil Ford, said the BBC had “paused but not axed” the children’s sci-fi drama because “there was not enough money” as yet to fund further episodes.

Broadcast reports, Davies is also concerned that protracted talks could result in cast members – which include Scott Haran as wizard Tom Clarke and Percelle Ascott as his scientific friend Benny – accepting other acting opportunities.

Wizards vs Aliens is a BBC Wales/FremantleMedia production.
