Toy Story 4 has been confirmed for release in June 2017 according to Walt Disney Company’s Chairman and CEO Bob Iger.

John Lasseter, who directed the first and second movies in 1995 and 1999 respectively, will return to direct a fourth Toy Story film.

Lasseter also directed A Bug’s Life, and currently holds the title of chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios.

Although no cast has been announced yet, it’s expected stars Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack will return to voice the main characters.

Up until March 2014, Toy Story 3 – which was released in 2010 – was the highest-grossing animated film of all time. It was surpassed by Frozen, another Walt Disney film.
