A new image has been released for BBC One/HBO’s adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s best-selling novel, The Casual Vacancy.
The picture (above) shows Julia McKenzie and Keeley Hawes as Shirley Mollison and Samantha Mollison respectively.
Adapted by Sarah Phelps, the three-part drama also stars Michael Gambon, Rory Kinnear, Monica Dolan, and newcomer Abigail Lawrie.
The story centres on Pagford, a seemingly idyllic English village. Behind the pretty façade, however, is a town at war: rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils.
