BBC reveals cast read-through picture and new additions

Today the read-through for the new series of BBC One drama, Our Girl starring EastEnders Lacey Turner has taken place with the BBC twitter account posting a picture of the cast which includes new members.

Joining Lacey in the military drama is: Iwan Rheon (Misfits, Vicious), Ben Aldridge (Lark Rise To Candleford, The Bible), Charley Palmer Merkell (Mayday, Coming Up), Arinze Kene (Youngers, EastEnders) and Ade Oyefeso (Youngers, Silk).

The five-part series written by Tony Grounds sees Lacey play the unstoppable Molly Dawes, born and raised in East London with few prospects, who went from nobody to a soldier in the Royal Army Medical Corps.

The new series sees Molly on her first deployment as a serving army medic against the backdrop of the British Army’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Our Girl airs on BBC One later in the year.
