The BBC One twitter account has revealed a picture (above) of EastEnders Lacey Turner preparing to film five-part series Our Girl, which is currently underway in South Africa.

Written by Tony Grounds, the military drama sees Lacey reprise her role as Molly Dawes, who debuted in the original single drama in 2013 – which the BBC then gave a full series commission. The new series will see Molly on her first deployment as a serving army medic against the backdrop of the British Army’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

A picture of the cast read-through last month revealed the new cast members who will be joining Lacey in Our Girl includes: Iwan Rheon (Misfits, Vicious), Ben Aldridge (Lark Rise To Candleford, The Bible), Charley Palmer Merkell (Mayday, Coming Up), Arinze Kene (Youngers, EastEnders) and Ade Oyefeso(Youngers, Silk).

Our Girl will air on BBC One later in the year.
