Irish actor Emmett J Scanlan, who plays Glen Martin in BBC Two thriller, The Fall, has confirmed on twitter that the second series, starring Gillian Anderson and Jamie Dornan, is due to begin filming in February 2014.

Scanlan tweeted: “Start shooting The Fall season 2 next February… And by the sound of it, it’s gonna be f**king AWESOME… Can’t wait…”

The cat and mouse thriller written by Alan Cubitt focuses on Belfast serial killer Paul Spector (Dornan) and Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson (Anderson), who was brought in from the Met to help catch him.

The end of the first series attracted 3.6 million viewers and saw Gibson inching closer to catching Spector but he evades the police and goes on the run with his unwitting wife and child.
