Former Busted singer and guitarist Matt Willis has joined the cast of returning sitcom Birds Of Feather.

The 2006 I’m A Celebrity winner will play Garthy, the older son of Tracey Stubbs, played by Linda Robson when the former BBC1 comedy returns on ITV next spring.

Willis said: “I’m so excited to be joining Birds of a Feather playing the role of Garthy! I used to watch the show growing up so this is just a dream job. I can’t believe I’ll be working with Sharon, Tracey and Dorien.”

Pauline Quirke, who plays Tracey’s sister Sharon will appear alongside her real-life son Charlie Quirke, who will reprise his role from the Birds of a Feather stage production tour in which he played the role of Tracey’s younger son Travis.

Charlie Quirke said: “For me it’s great to get this opportunity after playing Travis on the stage tour for the last two years, and it’s great working with the two girls again and Mum!”

Lesley Joseph also returns as nosy neighbour Dorien.

The series, which began in 1989, last aired on Christmas Eve 1998 and ran for nine years.
