Vic and Bob to become flatmates in new BBC Two sitcom

Vic and Bob are to return to BBC Two in a new 6×30-minute sitcom, House Of Fools.

The studio audience sitcom is set in Bob’s grubby flat which he unwillingly shares with Vic… and a constant stream of unwanted visitors, including lady-obsessed lothario Beef (Matt Berry) and Geordie ex-con Bosh (Dan Skinner). Hidden away upstairs is Erik, Bob’s sulky son played by comic Daniel Simonsen and lurking next door is man-eater Julie (Morgana Robinson).

Just as they bent the rules of the panel show format, House Of Fools (w/t) does the same to the studio sitcom. It’s half an hour of unadulterated Reeves and Mortimer, uniquely surreal jokes, physical nonsense, daft songs, unimaginable props and impossible situations with a comedy thoroughbred cast.

Vic and Bob said: “We’re back where we belong and over the moon about making a series of House Of Fools (w/t) for the BBC”.

Shane Allen, Controller, Comedy Commissioning, said: “Vic and Bob are the daddies of daft comedy and it’s a total joy to watch two men in their 50s goof about so gloriously. I’m extremely proud to bring them back to the BBC in this hilarious reincarnation.

The series is a BBC In-house Comedy production in association with Pett Productions. Produced by Lisa Clark and executive produced by Mark Freeland, Head of BBC In-house Comedy.

House Of Fools will shoot later in the year for transmission in 2014.
