‘Sinbad’ axed after one series
Sky1 has axed its action-adventure drama, ‘Sinbad‘ after one series.
The series aired in July with a 12-episode run and starred Elliot Knight as the titular character with a supporting cast including, Lost‘s Naveen Andrews and Fringe star, Orla Brady. Sophie Okonedo, and Timothy Spall also made guest appearances.
In a statement Sky said: “As a broad, family entertainment channel, Sinbad was the perfect drama to showcase Sky1’s ambitions for long-running, blockbuster series,” Sky said in a statement.
“We were thrilled with the cast and the production team at Impossible, however, we feel that Sinbad’s story has now been told.”
Adding: “We’re in development on a number of exciting new projects and look forward to sharing more news with our customers very soon.”
Although the series received a poor UK reception, Sinbad was picked up for US network Syfy for transmission in September.
