Sherlock‘ star joins ‘Skins‘ series 7

Lara Pulver and Kayvan Novak are to join Kaya Scodelario (Effy) in the new and final series of ‘Skins’ titled, ‘Skins Fire‘.
Pulver best known for her roles in Spooks, Sherlock and True Blood will play Vanessa, a “ball-breaking business bitch.”

Commenting on her role Lara Pulver says: “It’s been fun for me to step into a very different style of TV show, but there’s actually kind of a parallel, as I’m joining Skins at a time when the show is also entering new territory, following these well-known and loved characters as they start the next chapter of their lives.”

Adding: “Playing opposite Kaya has been a lot of fun. We’re both playing strong-minded, ambitious women who are in the midst of very different stages of their lives. This causes friction between them and yet they can’t help but find compassion and an ally in one another.”

Kayvan Novak, who is best known for Sirens and his series’ Fonejacker and Facejacker has been cast as Jake, Effy’s wealthy new boss who she gets too close to.

The final series of ‘Skins‘ has been split into three special two-part films – Skins Fire (starring Scodelario, Pulver and Novak), Skins Pure (starring Hannah Murray who plays Cassie) and Skins Rise (featuring Jack O’Connell who played Cook).
Lara Pulver will next be seen on our screens on FXUK in the Spring in historical fantasy, ‘Da Vinci’s Demons‘ in which she plays famed enchantress and political machinator Clarice Orsiniplays.
‘Skins’ returns to E4 in early 2013.
