H-Division bowing out for good!
Amazon Prime has confirmed that the upcoming fifth season of Ripper Street will be the last.
The Victorian crime drama, starring Matthew Macfadyen, Jerome Flynn, Adam Rothenberg and MyAnna Buring, began on BBC One but was axed in 2013 after two series. Amazon Prime then stepped in to pick up the series for its streaming service recommissioning it for a further three series, the fifth of which is currently filming in Dublin.
Ripper Street follows the police officers of Whitechapel’s H-Division and their struggle to maintain law and order after the Jack The Ripper murders.
Joesph Mawle as Jedediah Shine
Season five will see the return of actor Joseph Mawle as Detective Inspector Jedediah Shine, who was last seen at the end of the second season. You can read my interview with Joseph him back in 2013 here.
Ripper Street Season 5 will air on Amazon Prime Video later this year.
