Showtime has released a new trailer for the fifth season of Homeland starring Claire Danes.

Watch the trailer below…

Homeland season five will pick up two years after Carrie Mathison’s (Claire Danes) ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief. Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the “war on terror,” Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working as the head of security for a German philanthropist.

Joining the cast is Alexander Fehling (Inglourious Basterds) who will play Jonas Happich, a lawyer dating Carrie. Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings) joins as Allison Carr, the current Berlin Chief of Station. Sebastian Koch (A Good Day to Die Hard) as Otto Düring, a German philanthropist and Carries’ boss; and Sarah Sokolovic (The Good Wife) as an American journalist in Berlin who works for the foundation where Carrie is employed.

Rupert Friend and Mandy Patinkin reprise their roles as Quinn and Saul respectively.

Homeland Season 5 begins on Showtime in the US Sunday, 4th October 4th at 9pm. Channel 4 airs the drama in the UK.
