Supergirl takes flight!
The new CBS adaptation of Supergirl has officially landed a full series order.
Glee‘s Melissa Benoist stars as the DC comic book heroine, Supergirl / Kara Zor-El. Born on the planet Krypton, Kara escaped amid its destruction years ago. Since arriving on Earth, she’s been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin, Superman. But now at age 24, she decides to embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be.
The news, reported by TV Line, comes following positive reviews of the pilot episode which is written and executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg.
The cast also includes Mehcad Brooks, Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan and David Harewood.
Supergirl is slated for the 2015-16 TV season. No UK channels have picked up the series yet.
