ITV Encore has acquired 10-part critically acclaimed Nordic mystery thriller, Jordskott.

Produced by Palladium Fiction, Jordskott is set deep in the ancient forests of Sweden. Seven years after the disappearance of her daughter Josefine, police investigator Eva Thörnblad is still trying to cope with the grief of her loss. Even though her daughter was said to have drowned, Eva knows in her heart that someone had taken her child on that fatal day by the Silverhöjd lake. So when a young boy goes missing in the same forest of Silverhöjd, Eva returns to delve into the dark mystery that haunts her. As she is drawn into the investigation she learns that there is a much deeper and darker force in operation but how far is she willing to go to protect the one she loves?

Angela Jain, Director of Digital Channels & Acquisitions, ITV said: “Jordskott is a wonderful, contemporary Nordic drama that is an intense and gripping watch. ITV Encore will be the perfect home for it so we are thrilled to be able to bring it to the UK audience. “

Jayne Redpath, SVP Sales, EMEA, ITV Studios Global Entertainment said: “Jordskott‘s stunning backdrop in a Swedish forest brilliantly sets the scene for this mysterious  thriller of loss, grief and love. These universal themes and beautiful production values make it perfect for an international audience. We’re delighted that ITV Encore feels the same. “

Jordskott originally premiered on Swedish channel STV in February, with consolidated viewers of 1.6 million.
