Stick Man’s witty and emotional story for festive season

Julia Donaldson‘s best-selling children’s book Stick Man is to be adapted for BBC One.

Due to air Christmas 2015, Stick Man is a witty and emotional story about a ‘stick man’ who has to get home to his family in time for Christmas. The book was illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

The half hour animated film is produced by Magic Light Pictures (The Gruffalo, Room On The Broom).

Jeroen Jaspaert will direct; co-director is Daniel Snaddon. Animation will take place at Triggerfish Animation Studios in Cape Town.

Producer Michael Rose says: “Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s books offer wonderful stories for adaptation, and we’re thrilled to be collaborating with Julia, Axel and BBC1 for the fourth time.”
