First look pictures: Dustin Hoffman, Judi Dench in Esio Trot

BBC One has released two early images of its 90-minute adaptation of Roald Dahl‘s Esio Trot.
The pictures (below) shows leads Dustin Hoffman as retired bachelor Mr Hoppy and the object of his affections, his neighbour Mrs Silver played by Judi Dench.
Unfortunately Mrs Silver lavishes all her affections on Alfie, her pet tortoise. Her greatest wish is Alfie to grow a little bigger. All seems lost for Mr Hoppy until he has the brightest, most devious of ideas.
Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot will air on BBC One on New Yearâs Day at 6.30pm.
