“More dangerous and more international”

Steven Knight‘s Birmingham-based gangster drama Peaky Blinders is to return for a third series of six episodes.

Starring Cillian Murphy, the BBC Two series focuses on the Shelby family as their attempt to build their gambling empire. The series two cast included Tom Hardy, Helen McCrory, Sam O’Neil, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Joe Cole and Charlotte Riley.

Made by Tiger Aspect and Caryn Mandabach Productions the second series of Peaky Blinders concluded recently, attracting overnight ratings of 1.5 million viewers.

Writer Steven Knight says: “The story of the Peaky Blinders is just beginning and in series three life will become more lucrative, more dangerous and more international. Expect births, marriages and deaths and a further expansion of the Shelby Empire.”

Peaky Blinders will return in 2015 in the UK. The first two series are to be made available on Netflix in the US.
