Australian drama comes to More4

More4 has acquired the UK rights to air six-part Australian period drama, Anzac Girls, based on real-life experiences in World War I.

The series starring Georgia Flood, Antonia Prebble, Laura Brent and Anna McGahan, is based on the historic letters and diaries of five young women, in the true story of Australia and New Zealand’s young, brave nurses in the First World War. Set in 1915, the series will follow the struggles of the fledgling nurses as they are drafted to the Middle East as part of a secret military campaign.

Currently airing on ABC Australia, the series also draws inspiration from Peter Rees’ book The Other Anzacs.
