Popular satirical comedy moves channel
Russell Howard’s Good News is moving from BBC Three to BBC Two after eight successful series.
The show, in which Russell comments on the week’s news with a mix of stand-up, sketches and special guests, has enjoyed regular ratings of 898k as well as regularly being in the BBC iPlayer Top 10.
Mark Linsey, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning, says: “Five years ago, BBC Three spotted Russell’s great talent, commissioned this brilliantly funny show, nurtured and cherished it and is now passing it on to BBC Two as a fully fledged hit.”
Russell says: “I’m really looking forward to the new series on BBC Two. I can’t wait to get started.”
Russell Howard’s Good News is an Avalon production. Series produced by Robyn O’Brien and directed by Peter Orton.
The new series of Russell Howard’s Good News will air on BBC Two later in the year.
