BBC axes First World War drama
BBC One drama The Crimson Field will not be returning for a second series, writer Sarah Phelps has confirmed on twitter.
Phelps tweeted: “Found out today that #TheCrimsonField won’t be recommissioned by @BBCOne Gutted doesn’t even touch the sides of how I feel.”
The six-part First World War drama followed the doctors and nurses of a British field hospital in France and starred: Suranne Jones, Oona Chaplin, Hermione Norris, Alice St. Clair, Marianne Oldham, Kerry Fox, Kevin Doyle, Jack Gordon, Alex Wyndham, Richard Rankin, and Jeremy Swift.
