ITV has commissioned a new four-part atmospheric thriller, Safe House based on a true story and made by Eleventh Hour Films.

Set in the beautiful wilderness of the Lake District, the drama tells the story of a married couple who turn their remote Guest House into a Safe House.

ITV’s Director of Drama Steve November and Controller of Drama Victoria Fea said:

“We’re delighted to commission Safe House from Jill Green and Eleventh Hour Films. It’s a compelling four-part drama from Michael Crompton with great characters and genuine twists which keep you guessing right to the end.”

Jill Green, Managing Director and Executive Producer at Eleventh Hour Films said: “Safe House is a quality drama with intelligently crafted characters delivering a complex and engaging story that will keep the viewer gripped.”

Created and written by Michael Crompton (Kidnap & Ransom, Carrie’s War), the series is developed by EHF’s Head of Development Paula Cuddy (Strike Back, Wallander) and will be directed by award-winning director Marc Evans (Hinterland, Collision).

Safe House will begin filming this autumn.
