The long wait for the return of Sherlock is almost over , with a new BBC trailer released for series 3.  Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman return as Sherlock and Watson and as we reported earlier this year are joined by guest star, My Mad Fat Diary actress Sharon Rooney.

No official date has been announced for transmission yet but Sherlock is expected to return in January 2014.
