Natalie Cassidy reprises her EastEnders role.
Natalie Cassidy – who was last seen in EastEnders in 2011, is to make a dramatic return to Albert Square in the New Year to reprise the role of Sonia Fowler, which she intermittently played for 14 years.
Sonia is to return as part of a gripping storyline which centres around the women of the Butcher household and will be accompanied by her daughter, Rebecca, who was fathered by Martin Fowler.  Sonia and Martin left Walford to go and live in Manchester but their rocky relationship ended off-screen, when Sonia returned in 2011 and revealed to her mother Carol Jackson that she had split from Martin and was now living in Essex.
Natalie Cassidy commented: âAfter seven years being out of the show, apart from the odd episode, I am extremely excited and honoured to be making a full-time return. I feel so lucky as an actress to get back to my roots. With Dominic as Executive Producer â itâs such an exciting time for the show. I cannot wait to work with Patsy and Lindsey again. Bring it on!â
Natalie will appear on-screen as Sonia in January 2014.
