Second series sees the Wizards “face their greatest challenges so far.”
The BBC has released a new promotional image and info for the return of popular CBBC series, Wizards Vs Aliens.
Returning for an extended 14-episode run, the series created by Russell T Davies and Phil Ford (The Sarah Jane Adventures, Doctor Who), stars Scott Haran as 16-year-old wizard Tom Clarke and Percelle Ascott as and his scientific friend Benny Sherwood in an attempt to stop the Nekross (voiced by Brian Blessed) from creating big trouble for all of wizardkind.
Full of danger, fun and friendship, the second series of Wizards Vs Aliens follows Tom and Benny’s journey as they meet new Aliens, new Wizards, and face their greatest challenges so far. With the Nekross threatening their most powerful attacks yet, it’s more important than ever that Tom and Benny work together to ensure the survival of both wizardkind and the Earth.
Russell T Davies, creator and executive producer of the show, said: “It’s a delight to be back on CBBC with a series which is wilder, bolder, deeper and funnier than ever, taking us from suburbia to the wilds of Tibet, encountering spaceships, magical worlds, haunted castles and galactic wars along the way. And at the centre of it all is the most important thing of all – the friendship between two boys, as junior wizard Tom and his best friend Benny fight to save the world. Magic and science are a combustible mix – and this year it’s going to explode!”
The series also features Annette Badland (Doctor Who, The Sparticle Mystery) Michael Higgs (EastEnders), Jefferson Hall (Vikings, Emma), Gwendoline Christie (Game Of Thrones), Dan Starkey (Doctor Who) Tom Bell.
Filmed at the BBC’s Roath Lock Studios in Cardiff and on location around the area, Wizards Vs Aliens will air on CBBC later this autumn.
