As the filming of new comedy ‘London Irish’ wraps, Channel 4 has announced Irish actor and comedienne Ardal O’Hanlon has joined the cast.

Written by Derry born Lisa McGee, the comedy tells the story of four ex-pat Northern Irish friends as they attempt to survive London life. Ardal plays Da to Conor and Bronagh, brother and sister, played by Kerr Logan and Sinead Keenan alongside their two friends, Packy – Patrick to his mother – (Peter Campion) and Niamh (Kat Reagan). Ma is played by Tracey Lynch.

Ardal said: “London Irish is a fresh, cheerfully outrageous, no-limits comedy. There isn’t a taboo that goes unexplored. I’m delighted to play Da who’s oblivious to all that. The writing is fearlessly funny and the cast ridiculously charismatic.”

The series is produced by Company Pictures. The Executive Producers are Caroline Leddy and Liz Lewin.

London Irish will transmit on C4 in the Autumn.
