Fourth series renewal of Scott and Bailey imminent?
Scott and Bailey producers Red Production Company have announced that ITV is interested in recommissioning the police drama for a fourth series.
Announcing the news on twitter they said: “Exciting news – looks like ITV want another series of Scott and Bailey!”
The Bafta-nominated series, which attracted 7.1 million viewers for its third series, stars Suranne Jones and Lesley Sharp as Rachel Bailey and Janet Scott, police officers in Manchester’s Major Incident Team.
The news is a happy surprise considering earlier comments in the year by Jones, when speaking to The Mirror she said: ” Series Four hasn’t been commissioned and I haven’t made my mind up yet whether to do another one.”
Adding: “The hours are so long and it takes you away from friends and family. When you stop enjoying yourself, it’s time to go.”
Hopefully this news means Suranne is on board. Afterall, it wouldn’t be Scott and Bailey without her!
