The story of ‘Burton And Taylor’ to be shown on BBC Four.

Helena Bonham Carter (Toast, Great Expectations) and Dominic West  (The Hour, The Wire) are to star in a new BBC Four single 90-minute drama, ‘Burton and Taylor.

The stars will portray the story of the title characters ill-fated appearance in a 1983 revival of Noel Coward’s stage play, Private Lives.

Written by William Ivory (Women In Love, Bert & Dickie) and made by BBC Drama Productions, Burton & Taylor is a drama about one of the most fascinating, glamorous and tempestuous relationships of the 20th century, that of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, the two most famous movie stars of their day who played out every  high and low of their love affair, their marriages and divorces right in the public eye.

Burton and Taylor‘ is executive produced for the BBC by Jessica Pope. Directed by Richard Laxton (Him And Her, Hancock) and produced by Lachlan McKinnon (Silent Witness).
