Simon Templar is coming back to television.

Better known as ‘The Saint’, he’s featured in almost a hundred books which sold over forty million copies and have been translated into over two dozen languages. Those books have provided the inspiration for fifteen feature films, three television series (we’ll charitably overlook the failed 1980s pilot), eleven radio series and a comic strip that was syndicated around the world for over a decade
And now its coming to a TV near you again in the shape of British actor Adam Rayner; recently seen in the BBC / Cinemax spy series ‘Hunted‘ will play the title character made famous by Roger Moore in the sixties ITV series.
Simon Templar is described as a brilliant criminal who uses his considerable illicit skills as a modern-day Robin Hood, who steals from rich criminals. A master of disguise, improvisation, martial arts, firearms and espionage and the quintessential English gentleman, he is hired by certain government agencies for special assignments and infuriates local law enforcement while wooing Patricia Holm, his on-again, off-again romance.
The pilot episode which is yet to find a network is written by Jesse Alexander (Alias, Heroes, Lost) and will be directed by Simon West (Tomb Raider, Human Target, The Expendables 2). Shooting is scheduled to start later this month.
Here at Inside Media Track were proud to announce that one of our very own writers, Ian Dickerson is also apart of this project as Creative Consultant alongside Roger and Geoffrey Moore. Ian has kindly agreed to an interview about the project which will be coming soon.
