BBC One announces return of Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue

BBC One has announced that all four coaches – Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue – will return to the second series of The Voice.

The first series attracted a consolidated viewing series average of 9.2million/38.5% share. The final of which saw one of Sir Tom Jones coached singers, Leanne Mitchell crowned the 2012 winner of a recording contract with Universal.

Moira Ross, Head of Entertainment at Wall to Wall, said: “I’m delighted that our four fabulous coaches are back for series two of The Voice. The dynamic between them is fantastic – the banter, the jockeying for position and the friendly rivalry amongst them, but most of all the respect they have for each other and the singers. All the ingredients for a great second series.”

Sir Tom Jones said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing and working with Jessie, Will and Danny on the second series of The Voice. I’ve heard there will be some important changes that will make what is already a good, strong show even better.”

will.i.am said: “This season is gonna be doper than last year!!”

Jessie J said: “I’m so happy to be back as one of the original four for series two. It’s going to be even bigger and better this time and I can’t wait. Bring it on.”

Danny O’Donoghue said: “I can’t wait to start the search again for the hottest vocal talent in the UK. I had an amazing experience last time and from what i believe, this year’s gonna be bigger and better, already the level of singers auditioning has gone through the roof and I can’t wait for the rest of the UK to hear and enjoy all the undiscovered artists there are out there… Tom, Will, and Jessie… Bring it on guys!!”

The Voice series 2, will air on BBC One in spring 2013, with the blind audition rounds being held at the BBC’s MediaCityUK, Salford, in front of a live studio audience.
