New 2-part ITV1 drama ‘The Last Weekend’ begins on Sunday 19th August at 9pm, take a look at the episode 1 picture gallery below.

Rupert Penry-Jones (Whitechapel, Silk) and Shaun Evans (Endeavour, The Take) head up a cast that includes Genevieve O’Reilly (Episodes, Law & Order: UK) and Claire Keelan (Line of Duty, Moving On) in Mick Ford’s adaptation of Blake Morrison’s best-selling suspense thriller The Last Weekend.

Blake Morrison’s compelling and shocking psychological study of male jealousy is brought to the screen by Mick Ford, (Single Father, Ashes To Ashes,) in the Carnival Films production of The Last Weekend for ITV1.

The cast also includes Hugh Mitchell (Life of Riley, Waking The Dead) as Ollie and Daisy’s son Archie and Swedish actor, Alexander Karim (Johan Falk, Varg Veum-Svarte Far), as Daisy’s client, the charismatic artist Milo.

The story unfolds over four days across one hot summer bank holiday weekend in the Suffolk countryside. The scene of what should be a relaxing break for two couples with a long shared history becomes the backdrop to a chilling nightmare that no one could forsee, except perhaps for one person.

Ian, played by Shaun Evans, is a disillusioned working-class primary school teacher who takes us retrospectively through the events of the weekend and back to the roots of his unlikely friendship with the sporty and privileged Ollie, played by Rupert Penry-Jones.
