Jimmy Mcgovern’s “Accused” returns for a new series

Watch the brand new Original British Drama trailer released by the BBC, for the return of Jimmy McGovern’s (The Street, The Lakes) award-winning drama series ‘Accused.’

The series will return to BBC One in 4 hour-long episodes, starring Sean Bean (Sharpe, Lord of the Rings), Stephen Graham (This Is England), Anna Maxwell Martin (South Riding, Bleak House), Robert Sheehan (Misfits), Sheridan Smith (Gavin and Stacey), Anne-Marie Duff (The Virgin Queen), Olivia Coleman (Exile), Joe Dempsie (Game of Thrones) and John Bishop (Skins).

The first series shown in 2010 won two international Emmy Awards with Christopher Eccleston picking up best performance by an actor and Accused won in the best series category.

Episode 1 begins with Sean Bean as you’ve never seen him before when he plays Simon Gaskell, who has the alter ego of a transvestite called Tracie Tremarc, who gets embroiled in a triangular love affair with married man Tony (Stephen Graham), and Tony’s wife Karen (Rachel Leskovac), which leads to a terrible crime of passion.
