NBC has renewed musical drama Smash for a second season after successful ratings.
According to TV Line, a network source has said the second season will have at least 15 episodes.
The cast of Smash includes, Debra Messing, Anjelica Huston, Jack Davenport, Christian Borle and Raza Jaffrey and is based on a group of people making a Broadway play based on the life of Marilyn Monroe.
The executive, as well as series creator told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour in January of her plans for a season 2.
“The second season, if we’re lucky enough to get one, would be Marilyn comes to Broadway and how it fares in New York,” Rebeck said.
