The Walking Dead’s Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd and Valhalla Entertainment has brought the rights to Area 51: An Uncensored History of America’s Top Secret Military Base, a novel by Annie Jacobsen.

The book will be turned into an hour long television drama that will according to Deadline: “follow two men working on the base who are thrust into danger when they uncover secrets that the government will protect at any cost.”

The Area 51 project showrunner will be Karl Gajdusek who will also executive produce with Gale Anne Hurd. The author Annie Jacobsen will act as consulting producer. The project is due to be taken to networks shortly.
