Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates have been confirmed as the presenters of The Voice UK.
Holly is best known as presenter on daytime show This Morning and five series of Dancing On Ice, a role which she left to present the Voice UK. Holly is also on The Celebrity Juice panel and was an Xtra Factor presenter.
She says: “I’m so excited to be hosting The Voice. When it launched in America I watched one of the shows and thought it was just a fantastic format, and when I heard it was coming to the UK I thought to myself how incredible it would be to be a part of it. It’s going to be one roller coaster of a ride and I can’t wait to get started!”
Reggie Yates is best known as a Radio1 presenter of the Chart Show and the request show. He has hosted the MOBO Awards and three music specials for MTV. He also fronts many of the festivals coverage including Glastonbury, Reading, T-in the Park and Radio1’s Big Weekend.
Reggie says: “I’m so delighted to get this job and be part of such a credible music show. The format of The Voice in America has worked brilliantly and I have no doubt it will be just as successful on British TV.
The duo will also interview the competing artists and the coaching panel, including Singer Jessie J, the only confirmed coach so far. Three other celebrity coaches are due to be announced in the near future.
BBC One Controller Danny Cohen says: “Holly and Reggie feel like a perfect partnership for The Voice. They are both big fans of the show and will bring a huge amount of passion and enthusiasm to the production.”
The Voice UK is due to air in Spring 2012 on BBC ONE.
