International best-selling Author Ken Follett has revealed on his twitter page details about when the forthcoming adaption of his novel “World Without End” is due to air, which is currently filming in Budapest.
He said: “Miniseries of World Without End will be aired in most countries in the second half of next year.”
It was announced in the press release in June, in the UK it will be airing on Channel 4. In the US its yet to sign to a Network.
Ken Follett’s initial tweet simply said: “Off to Budapest in the morning to receive the Golden Book Award and check on the filming of @WorldWithoutEnd.”
He then went on to reveal: “Thrilled to bits. Today they filmed the death of Petronilla. Cynthia Nixon is brilliant.”
World Without End follows the highly successful adaption of Ken Folletts Pillars of The Earth novel which received a Creative Arts Emmy. The new adaption has been filming in Hungary, Slovakia and Austria on a five month shoot which started on July 11.
The stellar cast leading the adaption are: Cynthia Nixon (as Petranilla), Miranda Richardson (as Mother Cecilia), Ben Chaplin (as Sir Thomas Langley), Peter Firth (as Earl Roland), Charlotte Riley (as Caris), and Tom Weston-Jones (as Merthin).
Others members of the cast include: Rupert Evans (as Godwyn), Nora von Waldstaetten (as Gwenda), Oliver Jackson-Cohen (as Ralph), Megan Follows (as Maud), and Sarah Gadon (as Philippa).
The Eight hour $44 million mini series adaption has been scripted by John Pielmeier, who also adapted Pillars of the Earth. Michael Caton-Jones is directing. The series is being produced by Tandem Communications, Take 5 Productions and Gala films in association with Ridley Scott and Tony Scott´s Scott Free Productions.
