Angel Coulby Joins Stephen Poliakoff’s BBC2 Drama “Dancing On The Edge.”
Angel Coulby has been revealed as one of the stars in BBC Stephen Poliakoff’s Drama “Dancing on the
Edge.”
The actress best known for playing Gwen in BBC1’s Merlin has just began filming according to actors representative “Curtis Brown.” They tweeted: “Stephen Poliakoff’s Dancing on the Edge is underway. Thrilled to have Angel Coulby, John Hopkins, Gerard Horan and Ariyon Bakare on board!”
It is yet to be announced what characters each of the actors will be playing in the 30’s set, five-part series due to air in 2012, which follows “a black Jazz band in London during extroadinary change” according to the press release in June.
“Dancing on the Edge” will be the first series written and directed by the successful film-maker for television. Controller of BBC2 Janice Hadlow says: “Stephen Poliakoff is a great distinctive talent and I’m thrilled to have his first long-form drama on BBC Two. In Dancing On The Edge I think you will see a very different voice from Stephen and I am delighted to be able to add this remarkable piece to the new dramas on the channel in 2012.”
