As part of the BBC’s upcoming Landmark Sitcom Season, a first-look image featuring the new cast of Are You Being Served? has been unveiled.
The one-off special, written by Derren Litten (Benidorm, The Catherine Tate Show), follows the misadventures of staff on a retail floor of a fictional London department store called Grace Brothers. The classic comedy was originally written by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft and last on our screens more than 30 years ago.
The Are You Being Served? special will pick up where the original series left off, with a host of stars taking on the classic characters, including Mrs Slocombe, Captain Peacock, Mr Humphries and Miss Brahms, made famous by the likes of actors, Mollie Sugden, Trevor Bannister, John Inman and Wendy Richard.
The new cast (pictured above) shows: Miss Croft (Jorgie Porter), Miss Brahms (Niky Wardley), Mr Rumbold (Justin Edwards), Mrs Slocombe (Sherrie Hewson), Mr Grace (Mathew Horne), Captain Peacock (John Challis), Mr Humphries (Jason Watkins), Mr Conway (Kayode Ewumi), Mr Grainger (Roy Barraclough) and Mr Harman (Arthur Smith).
Are You Being Served? will air on BBC One in September.
