Nikki Amuka-Bird stars in BBC Two book adaptation

NW

BBC Two has released a first look trailer for NW, a 90-minute drama adaptation of Zadie Smith‘s 2012 best-selling book.

The drama stars Nikki Amuka-Bird (Luther, Small Island) and Phoebe Fox (The Musketeers, Life In Squares) as friends Natalie and Leah, who grew up together in North West London, whose lives have taken them in different directions.

Set apart from the friends and family she grew up with, Natalie finds herself asking not only who she really is, but where she belongs. In an area where wealth and poverty are only streets apart, life is fragile and secrets are dangerous – as Natalie and Leah are about to find out.

The Mammoth Screen production is adapted by Rachel Bennette (Ripper Street, Lewis) and directed by Saul Dibb (Bullet Boy).

NW will air on BBC Two on Monday 14th November at 9pm.
