Jack Thorne drama explores historical sex offences impact
A first look trailer has debuted for Jack Thorne‘s new Channel 4 drama National Treasure, starring Robbie Coltrane (Harry Potter) and Julie Walters (Indian Summers).
The four-part drama explores the impact of historical sex offences when Coltrane’s character Paul Finchley – one half of a much-loved comedy double act – is accused of historic sexual offences from the 1990s.
Walters plays Marie, Paul’s wife of over 40 years, with Andrea Riseborough (Birdman) starring as Dee, Paul’s troubled recovering addict daughter. The allegations and ensuing investigation leaves the family questioning if Paul is the man they thought he was and coping with both the public and private fallout.
National Treasure will air on Channel 4 in September.
