Kara & Clark team up, but not without some family tension.

Supergirl‘s new Man of Steel, Tyler Hoechlin has donned the iconic red and blue Superman suit in a new first-look picture for season 2.

Standing alongside show lead Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl – aka his fellow Kryptonian cousin Kara Danvers, the former Teen Wolf actor will appear in the first two episodes of season two, with the cousins set to have some differing opinions about how they use their superpowers on earth.

Executive Producer Sarah Schechter, said: “I think that Clark has a very different experience of what it means to have superpowers on Earth. He was raised with them, he has certain values so there’s some real head butting and philosophical approaches that are different and we’ll get into all that.”

Tyler’s Superman costume was created by designer Kiersten Ronning, who also created the Supergirl costume for The CW show.

Other stars joining season 2 Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer; Ian Gomez, as newsman Snapper Carr; Lynda Carter as the President of the United States and Chris Wood who will play the mystery character that Kara discovered in the pod at the end of season 1.

Supergirl Season 2 is set to air in the US, Monday, 10th October on The CW. Sky 1 airs the series in the UK with the airdate yet to be confirmed.
