BBC One has released some first-look images (above and below) of Nick Hornby’s BBC One adaptation of Nina Stibbe‘s award-winning book Love, Nina.

The images show Helena Bonham-Carter as Georgia, the beautiful, forthright mother to Joe and Max (played by Ethan Rouse and Harry Webster), and Faye Marsay as Nina, the nanny, suffering from the culture shock of moving to one of London’s most Bohemian streets from her home town in the East Midlands.

The five-part, 1980’s London-set drama, focuses on Nina’s charming and laugh-out-loud letters home to her sister as she copes with the culture clash; celebrating family and friendship in all its chaotic glory.

Also co-starring is Jason Watkins and Josh McGuire.

Love, Nina begins on BBC One on Friday, 20th May at 9.30pm.
