Drama explores the mind of psychopathic teenage boy.
Channel 4 has commissioned a new intense and powerful four-part psychological thriller, Born to Kill, from Line of Duty producers World Productions.
Born to Kill is a haunting exploration of the mind of a teenage boy trying to suppress psychopathic desires whilst falling in love for the first time. Meanwhile, his family and community watch on, unaware of what he is capable of.
Announced at Channel 4’s Upfronts 2016 event, the drama will be the first commission for female writing duo Tracey Malone (Silent Witness) and first time TV writer Kate Ashfield.
Head of Drama Piers Wenger says; “Tracey and Kate reel you in to their gripping world and never let you go – this is edge of your seat drama. They have created two remarkably complex young characters that you hope will find love, but fear that their journey may take a darker turn. We are incredibly excited to have two such gifted writers leading this extraordinary piece of work.”
World Productions’ Head of Drama Jake Lushington says; “World is thrilled to be making such an ambitious, morally ambiguous piece that contains the power to seduce and shock in equal measure.”
Born to Kill will go into production in 2016 for transmission on Channel 4.
