ITV Encore grabs Gracepoint exclusive rights
ITV Encore has acquired the exclusive UK rights to air Gracepoint, the US remake of the first series of ITV’s Broadchurch.
David Tennant dons an American accent for the 10-part series, which focuses on the murder of a young boy whose body is found on a Californian beach. The turmoil and subsequent investigation upends the lives of the family and small town’s residents.
The cast also stars, Emmy Award winner Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), Golden Globe Award winner Nick Nolte (Luck) and Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook)
Original Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall executive produced and wrote the premiere episode of Gracepoint.
Sasha Breslau, Head of Acquired Series, ITV said; ‘We’re extremely pleased to give our viewers the chance to enjoy Gracepoint, an adaptation with such rich associations, but which stands on its own as a compelling, distinctive piece of drama’.
Gracepoint was produced in partnership with Shine America in association with Kudos and Imaginary Friends and will air on ITV Encore in April.
