‘Miranda’ to get her happy ending?
Miranda Hart has confirmed in an interview with BBC Radio 2’s Steve Wright, that her popular sitcom Miranda is to come to a close with two final Christmas Specials.
“So I’m doing two Christmas specials, but they are going to be the finale of the show, full stop.”
Adding that she wants the series to “end on a high”, and feels it’s time to put the slapstick humour to bed: “As she gets older I don’t want her to keep falling over and make a fool of herself, I want her to be happy.”Â
Hart’s declaration at least heavily hints that Miranda may finally get together with chef Gary Preston played by Tom Ellis.
The comedy has run for three series with Sarah Hadland and Patricia Hodge also in the cast.
The final two episodes of Miranda will begin filming in November 2014 and air over Christmas.
