‘Dracula Untold’ writers pen ‘Lost In Space’ Reboot
Classic sci-fi series Lost In Space is returning to screens in a new reboot.
Irwin Allen’s 1965 cult TV classic was set 30 years into the future (1997) and revolved around the Robinson family who was sent on on a five-and-a-half-year journey to another planet in an attempt by the U.S. to colonise space. The plan is thwarted however by foreign secret agent, Dr. Zachary Smith who sabotages the mission, causing the ship to veer off course and become lost in space.
Legendary TV is developing the series, which will be penned by Dracula Untold writers, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The two will executive produce with Kevin Burns of Synthesis Entertainment, who holds the rights to the original series though Space Prods. Inc.
The original series aired on CBS in the US for three seasons and starred Angela Cartwright, Mark Goddard, Marta Kristen, Jonathan Harris, June Lockhart, Guy Williams, Billy Mumy and Bob May as the Robot.
