Georgie and Poppy Carlton join E4
E4 is bringing young aristocratic siblings Georgie Carlton and his sister Poppy Carlton to UK screens in seven part comedy-reality series, Almost Royal.
Played by comediennes Ed Gamble and Amy Hoggart the BBC Worldwide series follows the siblings unsanctioned State visit tour of the United States of America – and documents what happens when the 50th and 51st in line to the British throne come in contact with real-life Americans.
From New York to Los Angeles, the Carlton duo have agreed to a camera crew recording their encounters with everyday Americans as they travel across the States in a revealing portrait of aristocratic life on the road. After enjoying a privileged upbringing at Caunty Manor, the siblings are keen to spread their wings and see the world. But after a rather sheltered childhood, how will one cope with a dilemma greater than telling their butler what they want for lunch?
Almost Royal is due to broadcast on E4 this autumn.
