The BBC has released a first-look image from the second series of BBC One period drama, The Village.
The six-part series charts the life and turbulent times of life in an English village in 1923 post the Great War seen through the eyes of Bert Middleton, played by newcomer Tom Varey.
Also joining the cast is Derek Riddell, Julian Sands, Phoebe Dyneover, Andrew Gower and Juliet Aubrey
Now in a world of boom and bust, motor cars and the Charleston, the Twenties bring a blast of energy and freedom to the village; as the outside world continues to break down barriers, bringing with it the big dramas that change will always generate.
John Simm and Maxine Peake return s Bert’s parents John and Grace Middleton along with Juliet Stevenson, Rupert Evans, Emily Beecham and Augustus Prew as the Allingham family. Matt Stokoe returns as the village school teacher.
The Village series 2 is currently filming in Derbyshire till early July and will air on BBC One later in the year.
